Thespian Club
The International Thespian Society (ITS) is the Educational Theatre Association’s (EdTA) student honorary organization. ITS recognizes the achievements of high school and middle school theatre students. Since 1929, EdTA has inducted more than 2 million Thespians into ITS. That number continues to grow, with more than 36,000 students from around the country being inducted each year. Thespian Troupe 2246 is an award winning troupe, which welcomes students to join after they have met eligibility requirements of the ITS. DCHS Drama Club works in conjunction with Thespians and is open to ALL students in good academic standing, with no discipline referrals, and does not require students to meet the performance or technical eligibility standards of a Thespian in order to participate. For more information on becoming a Thespian, refer to the website. Students interested in any aspect of drama or in becoming a Thespian, should plan on attending the monthly Drama Club meetings. Drama club is open to all students regardless of their status as a Thespian. To be a member of Drama Club, students must maintain 2.5 overall GPA, and should attend monthly meetings to be able to take advantage of the opportunities available through the club.
